Scope

These terms govern sales of physical and digital products made by Transformatio Amoris ASBL to consumers, under Belgian law and the jurisdiction of the courts of Mons, Belgium.
By placing an order through this website, you accept these terms.

Gallery browsing and image viewing are governed by our dedicated Terms of Use (non-commercial viewing only), which complement these Terms & Conditions.

Products & prices

Prices are shown in your selected currency (EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, KRW, etc.). Final totals are calculated at checkout based on your shipping country and may update after you enter your address.

VAT: Included for EU deliveries; not charged for non-EU exports (local duties/taxes may apply on import).
Currency: You can browse in multiple currencies. The payment will be processed in the currency shown at checkout.
Rates: FX rates are updated periodically; small rounding differences may occur.
Duties & taxes (non-EU): Any import charges are paid by the customer to the local carrier/authority.
Updates: We may adjust prices before order confirmation.

Printed Books

Printed books offered through this website are physical products. The language, format, binding, dimensions, page count, printing method, colour specifications and edition details applicable to each title are those stated on the relevant product page at the time of the order.

Availability and production: Some titles may be held in stock, while others may be printed or prepared after the order is placed. Any stated production or dispatch time is an estimate and may vary according to availability, printing requirements and destination.
Product images and minor variations: Product photographs and digital mock-ups are provided for illustration. Slight differences in colour, paper tone, trimming, binding or print positioning may result from screen settings or normal printing and manufacturing tolerances. Minor variations of this kind do not constitute a defect where the product otherwise corresponds materially to its description.
Standard copies: Printed books that have not been personalised remain subject to the withdrawal and return conditions set out below, including where a standard copy is printed only after the order is placed.
Personalised copies: Where a customer specifically requests a dedication, name, inscription or other individual customisation, the resulting copy is made to the customer’s specifications and the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply. This does not affect the customer’s rights where the product is defective, damaged or does not conform to the order.
Signed copies: A standard copy advertised and sold as signed, without any customer-specific dedication or inscription, is treated as a standard product rather than as a personalised product.
Copyright: Purchasing a printed book transfers ownership of that individual physical copy only. It does not transfer copyright, moral rights or any right to reproduce, scan, publish, distribute, translate, adapt or commercially exploit its contents.

Orders & payment

Orders are confirmed upon successful payment. We accept major cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express) and wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay). PayPal is also available.
You will receive an order confirmation by e-mail. For made-to-order items, production starts after payment is captured.

Delivery

We deliver to several countries worldwide. Estimated production and delivery times, as well as packaging details for fine-art prints, are available here: Shipping & Packaging.

Fine-art print estimates: Production and transit times vary by region, format, edition and finish.
Shipping fees: Displayed at checkout based on destination, size, and service.
Tracking: Provided when available; notifications are sent by e-mail.
Customs (non-EU): Local duties/taxes may apply on import and are paid by the recipient.
Delivery & risk: Risk passes upon delivery to the address or pickup point confirmed at checkout.

Fine-art prints: Changing the shipping country or edition/finish may refresh delivery estimates and taxes automatically at checkout.

Import Fees & Local Taxes

Some countries apply import VAT and/or customs duty on delivery. These charges are set by local customs and collected by the carrier at destination. The estimates below are provided for convenience and do not constitute tax advice. Final amounts may vary according to local rules, product value, and carrier handling fees.

Reference basket: the “Above the threshold” column assumes a $200 order.

Other countries (summary): CH, LI, AL, BA, ME, MK, RS — import VAT and/or customs duties may apply, plus carrier handling fees. Amounts depend on local rules and parcel value.

Digital Products

Some items offered through this website are delivered digitally, including eBooks and downloadable documents. By purchasing these products, you acknowledge and agree to the specific conditions below.

eBooks & Digital Downloads

Digital products such as eBooks are delivered immediately after successful payment. Download links are provided on the order confirmation page and by email.

Downloads are for your personal use only. Redistribution, re-uploading, publication, sharing, resale, or making the file available to third parties is strictly prohibited.
We recommend saving a backup copy in your personal library. Your customer account normally allows you to download the file several times as long as the product remains available in its current form. Lost files may be reissued at our discretion, but this cannot be guaranteed indefinitely.
Where the customer has expressly consented to the immediate supply of the digital content before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period and acknowledged the resulting loss of the right of withdrawal, no refund is due once the download begins, in accordance with Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU. This does not affect the customer’s statutory rights where the digital content is defective or does not conform to the contract.

Technical Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that your device and software can read eBooks and downloadable documents in the formats stated on the relevant product page. Free PDF reader applications and common web browsers generally support PDF files. This does not affect your statutory rights where the digital content is defective or does not conform to the contract.

Intellectual Property & Usage Restrictions

All artistic works offered through this website, including films, photographs, paintings and other visual works, books and booklets, texts, music, audio recordings and graphic works, are original works of Maria Efthymiou, professionally known as Maria Alexea, and are protected by applicable copyright laws. Copyright and moral rights in those works remain exclusively vested in her.

mariaalexea.com is operated and managed by Transformatio Amoris ASBL. The website, including its original structure, compilation and administrative content, is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. All rights are reserved.

By purchasing a product or access, you receive a limited right of private access and use (streaming and/or reading/downloading) for non-commercial purposes only. No ownership rights are transferred, and no permission is granted to reproduce, distribute, or make the content available to third parties.

Prohibited: reproduction, public display, re-upload, distribution, sharing, resale, or making content available to third parties.
Prohibited: screenshots, screen recording, ripping, circumvention of protection measures, or any form of capture.
Prohibited: AI training, fine-tuning, dataset creation, scraping, or automated extraction of any content.
Prohibited: derivative work creation, adaptations, translations for publication, or commercial use without written permission.

Returns & Refunds / Right of Withdrawal

Applicability

EU/EEA consumers: statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from delivery under Directive 2011/83/EU.

Non-EU customers: as a commercial policy, we voluntarily offer a 14-day return window for eligible items (see Exclusions).

Exclusions (no withdrawal/return)

Items made to the customer’s individual specifications or clearly personalised items (e.g. fine-art prints produced according to dimensions, framing requirements or other specifications individually requested by the customer and not offered as standard product options).
Digital content supplied by download, once supply has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement of the resulting loss of the right of withdrawal.
Sealed audio/video/software once unsealed.
Items not returned in original condition or with excessive handling may incur a deduction for diminished value.

How to exercise your right

Within 14 days of delivery, email [email protected] stating your order number and the items you wish to return.

You must send back the goods within 14 days of informing us. Please keep proof of shipment.

Return shipping & costs

Return shipping is paid by the customer, except where the product is defective, damaged, or we made an error.
International returns: duties/taxes paid to carriers or customs are not refunded by us.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or you provide evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.
For digital content supplied by download, no refund is due once supply has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement of the resulting loss of the right of withdrawal.

Defective or damaged items (48 hours)

If an item arrives defective or damaged, notify us within 48 hours of delivery at [email protected] with photos and packaging evidence; we will replace or refund at our cost.

Return address & RMA

Please wait for our RMA instructions and return address before shipping back any item.

Legal warranty

Goods benefit from the legal conformity warranty under applicable law.

Liability

We are not liable for indirect damages. Nothing limits statutory consumer rights.

Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights applicable in the customer’s country of residence.

The courts of Mons, Belgium shall have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection or jurisdiction rules entitle the customer to bring or defend proceedings before another competent court.
